Visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary from Gulu City

Ziwa Rhino sanctuary allows you to experience the majesty of these creatures up-close with a rhino trek, where an experienced ranger will lead you on foot to see them at a safe distance (6-7 meters away). 

Ziwa is also home to almost 30 white Rhinos and other mammal species, including crocodiles, hippos, leopards, oribis, bushbuck, and approximately 300 species of bird, which can be observed with a game drive, canoe trip or night walk.

Rhino tracking takes approximately one and a half hours. The restaurant is open all day long. Regarding accommodation at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary; there are 2 guest houses that sleep 8 people each and backpackers rooms that can sleep up to 24 pax.

One Day Ziwa Rhino Tracking Safari.

We  depart Gulu early morning at 6am for the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary which takes approximately 2 hours . We utilise part of the morning to do a birding tour and then in the afternoon, Track the Rhinos on Foot.

This is quite an enchanting experience that is possible either on a weekend, or any other day of the week. A restaurant is available and guest house is also available for those who intend to overnight.
