It was founded by Sir Samuel Baker, an English explorer who was sent by the queen of England to quell down slave trade carried out by the Arabs slave traders in the Far East .
The fort was taken over by baker from the Arabs in the year 1872 and till now the site still remains a memorable & valuable site for the people of Patiko and Uganda at large. The rich history found in this place can explain a lot about the genesis and way of life of the people in Gulu and surrounding areas. This tour is crowned by a cultural gala composed of traditional dance performances from the native acholi people. This an opportunity to share a light moment with the people and also appreciate the joy of living peacefully
